Base/non Base transfer error? Can I retrieve?

Hello,

Attempting to join a Town that requires a fee.

I sent ETH to the address Towns requested at the Join stage using Metamask, regular ETH AFAIK.

Etherscan confirms transfer successful.

Towns says my account has not received ETH.

Have I done something wrong? Is BASE something different to ETH? Can I retrieve it? (Towns must have the key!)

Thanks

Still not resolved? Have the same problem with Deposit into ERC20

Hey @illiteratetap

Your funds are safe however they were sent using the ETH network. Funds on Towns must be sent via Base Network. It’s still ETH however on a different chain, we’re working on a recovery tool for situations like this where funds were sent using the wrong network.

Keep an eye out on our socials for the release of this tool via @townsxyz on X

thanks for update Joe

Hey @illiteratetap

The recovery tool for members on Towns who sent funds from the wrong network is live.

Please head to https://recovery.towns.com/ to begin the recovery process, details about this tool can be found on our X - @townsxyztownsxyz

Friend, Towns is based on the base network, if you sent regular ETH, the funds are lost

Hi Novokhatsky, they are not lost. You can use the Recovery Tool to view the funds and recover them: https://recovery.towns.com/

hello, sorry for delay in picking this up.

I connected to recovery.towns.com using the same auth as app.towns.com - the tool shows no funds available on any chain.

I double checked the auth by logging in to app.towns.com, it seems correct. And I have verified using ethscan that the ETH address matching the Base address assigned to my account by Towns does indeed have the ETH which I wish to recover.

What do I do?

Thanks
